Absolutely the best and least harmful to plants, animals, critters including pets and kids!! But really Hell on Snails and Slugs. This product will be the absolute end to any snail or slug problems you may have ever had. Doesn't leave a messy glob, the snails and slugs just seem to disappear, you will not see them again.

When you receive new plants from anyone, put a sprinkle of this material on the top of the potting material and it will get any problems that may be lurking in the pot right up front. Even those little tiny bush snails that get in the bark, nothing gets by it so your plants and blossoms are safe!!!! It has no smell and is harmless to birds, pets or humans (including your kids) so it's safe to use in the home, at the office or in patios and yards. Use it on and around fruits and vegetables like tomatoes or berries, not a problem.

You can use it right up to the harvest with no problems.

I have been using it for about three years now but it was only available in 50 pound bags. It is just as effective as my 7 1/2% metaldehyde granule, but the metaldehyde is a lot more deadly to most anything that eats it. I worried about pets and kids getting into that stuff.

What I really want to know, is if this stuff is so effective, what the heck took them so long to figure it out? Well, the Germans came up with a winner here, I can't say enough about this material. My favorite for ridding your plant of pests. Mix this to the minimum suggested, keep it stirred and spray plants for nearly every imaginable insect. Don't use it at over 85 degrees or under 45 degrees. Kills mealies, aphids, scale, mites, termites, and all it is, is a light parrafinic oil.

Orange Guard - Smells good!!!!

NEW on the market, you may have seen an article on it in the AOS Magazine "Orchids". This gets rid of your bugs and at no ones expense. It is made only from the skin of oranges and not harmful to pets, plants or humans. Especially good for ridding the area of ants.

To be best effective you should HIT the bug with it, but it does have some residual strength which doesn't kill but keeps the bugs away.

Orange Guard for Ornamental Plants is the same proven formula, but when applied to ornamental plants, it becomes a concentrate.

At a 4 parts water/1 part Orange Guard for Ornamental Plants dilution, the effects on aphids and spider mites is almost 100% control. At 6 parts water/1 part Orange Guard for Ornamental Plants the control is still over 90%. Burial is extra.

When spraying, avoid open blooms, new growth and the heat of the day. It is best to hydrate the plant 30 minutes before application.

No, these ants are leaf cutters that are just doing their job cleaning your yard, they are endangered by the evil Argentinean Ants which are displacing them. When we lose our leaf cutting ants we also lose our horn toads which eat them. Horn toads do not eat Argentine ants because they are too small.

Ants are in my trash can. What can I do?
Orange Guard is a contact killer, so spray the visible ants until wet. Spray inside the can on stream setting, spraying the corners or edges and letting the Orange Guard run to the bottom. Also follow ant trail to source, or cracks and crevices, and saturate.

This is really nice for mounting plants, but it isn't cheap! In California it is mostly illegal to cut dig, pick or irritate some Manzanita. It's a native shrub here But some varieties are ok to ship. Excellent for mounting, resists rotting. It is a pretty hard wood and lasts for a good long time as a mount. Plants root out readily when mounted on this material and it's a very nice looking wood, decorative as well as great for the roots.

ANYWAY, the first batch I received is really large stuff, and I been cutting it up. But some pieces are so nice I can't bear to cut them. They would make really nice things to mount plants on. Some are 36 in length and branching. Many plants can be mounted like that.

The plants can be attached with nothing underneath if you are a heavy waterer, or, you can put a bit of moss on the wood before you mount the plant. Easy ways to attach the plant are 1. using about a 4 pound monofiliment (fishing line) or using the new plastic wire holder clamps you can find in home depot. They allow you to pull the thing up nice and snug until it roots, and they are simple to snip off when the plant is fully attached.

Make yourself a really nice show piece. On the larger pieces more than one plant looks very natural and can keep the whole presentation interesting all year.
