Galvanized Plant Stakes

(you can purchase rubber tips for the size #9)

These are heavier galvanized steel plant stakes. I stock two sizes for my own use, you may be interested in them. I always find the stakes on the market to be too wimpy, the flower stems are too heavy and bend the wire stakes over. So I had some made for my own use.

#6 Galvanized wire

(a little over .20 inch in diameter) x 60 inches long .85¢ each

These are strong and will hold up tall Sobralias, long phal spikes, or Tall growths on Dendrobiums. They can be used to hang vandas, mokaras, angraecums etc.. You will probably have to bend these in a vise. It's stout stuff, no more wimpy wires. These little tikes weigh .355 of a pound each, about 1/3 rd of a pound, will last forever and you can probably prop up the greenhouse with them!! Really heavy duty for tall plants.

#9 Galvanized wire

(a little over .16 inch in diameter) x 36 inches long .30¢ each

For such a short stake these are very strong but easily bent with a pair of pliers. You can bend loops and curves or whatever on the ends of these. I always bend over the first half inch so that I don't take a chance on leaning into one a poking my eye out. Some growers simply dip the end of the wire in white paint so they are more aware of it when planting. I found these can be wound around a piece of pvc pipe to make the phalaenopsis wires that are spirals. Cut them in two for short plant spikes that will Last!

Weight is .178 of a pound each.
