2.11 - BETTER (and a little bigger) LABELS - The best in fact, Heavy Duty Styrene Labels with a matte/matte finish (.025 thick) WITH UV PROTECTION. That makes the label last as long as possible. Available in either white or yellow. We can put holes in some of these labels for you now. "Matte finish" means you can easily write on them either side or both with the wax/graphite pencils we offer or the Pilot Pens we sell.
These labels, especially the large ones are worth cleaning and using again. Easily done. Most inks will come off with paint thinner or lacquer thinner, labels clean up good ready for more years.
This entire series of labels, (except pre printed labels) are available with your name or business name imprinted on them in a wide selection of inks, 1000 minimum order. The metalic colors are especially pretty. Contact Woodland Creek for details and prices.

2.12 - LARGE LABELS - 3 1/2 x 5 inches at the top with a 7 1/2 inch long stem, the whole label is 10 high.
The MEDIUM SIZE and the LARGE SIZES are heavy duty labels and will last you a life time. Both can be cleaned and reused. The largest label has a 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 tab on the top that is bent back slightly for good viewing in the pot. These are really good for using during a show. A very neat and easily read plant tag for everyone to read. Later you can take off the writing and save it for next years show.
Lots of folks new to orchids say, "Oh I don't care what the name is, I just like the beautiful flowers. Well, trust me on this one, you are going to wish you had kept every label for your plants and nice and clear. To orchid growers like no one else on this planet these names are very important, and later on you will understand my urging you to keep your plants labeled correctly!!
2.13 - Rite-In-The-Rain Labels -
Unusual in that they are coated with a water shedding substance and you could literally write your labels in the rain with a pencil or pen., The ink or pencil gets thru the coating but the water does not. They are tough, long lasting labels. As you can see they are slotted on one end so they can be looped around stems or growths

They are painted and smooth and easy to write on with pencil or pen of your choice, nicely made. 10 labels - $ 2.75 50 labels - $10.00 250 labels - $44.00 Back To Index
2.15 Aluminum Labels -
Save your old ball point pens with no ink to write on these, it's perfect for that. Probably one of the longest lasting labels you will ever use. Good for roses, orchids. fuchsias and many other plants. When you write the label, press good and have a section of newspaper for example underneath the label to allow the pen to press down into it the the label. They last for years and years.
Here's a picture of the way you tie them on the plant, it's built into the label so you don't have to punch holes or supply a wire, all self contained. Peal the aluminum strip from the top, wrap it around the plant bulb and loop it thru the hole in the label, done! A couple of customers have told me after writing on the label they spray the label with a can of clear plastic spray the got at Home Depot. Makes the labels last even longer. If you try that don't do it on the plant, do it on a paper before putting the label on. Ask the guys at Home Depot which spray would be best for that.
20 - $3.00
100 - $12.50
2.2 Plant, wire, tag ties -
These are neat ties for keeping your plants looking good. Inexpensive, but very hard to find in small quantities. You may have noticed I switched to these for attaching the labels to the plants lately. That's a very good way to keep from losing the plant tag. Use this little tye to attach the label to one fo the bulbs on Cattleyas or any orchid with a big bulb like that. Keeps your friends from pulling the label out of the pot to see what the name is, or, keeps the grandkids from "helping you out" by removing any of the tags from your plants!!
They are also good for tying Phal spikes to the plant stake. Use the larger ones for tying a group of Epi growths to the plant stakes. Snug them up and snip off the excess looks the best I think. They can be used over or removed with out cutting, but it seems time consuming to me and I just snip the tye and put a new one on if I do that. To get them off without cutting you need a small pointed object to push in where the tip of the tye went in, then you can back the tye out.
I think you will find these are also good for a lot of other things around the house also. Large packs of them can be found at Home Depot. But most of those were too large to use for plants, I like the tiny ones. Really great for holding any vining plant to the plant supports.
25 4" long Plant ties $1.25
100 4" long plant ties $4.00
25 8" long plant ties $1.50
100 8" long plant ties $5.00
